Tales of a Sunday Afternoon
On a cold wintery day, there’s nothing better than curling up in front of a DVD with some chips and a warm blanket. The house smells like soup (tonight’s dinner), and I’ve got absolutely no need to go outside. It’s a nice feeling.
That doesn’t mean, however, that I’ve got nothing to do. The film that I’m currently watching is The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers in preparation for tomorrow night’s trivia competition. I started on Fellowship of the Ring this morning, and when this one’s over, it’ll be on to Return of the King. I’ve spent the past couple of days researching kids LotR-themed birthday parties for inspiration (and trying to remember what happened in that episode of Gilmore Girls when Lorelai and Sookie started a catering company).
I’m looking forward to having a little more spare time now that MIFF is over, although with both MWF and Melbourne Fringe coming up, I can’t imagine that this feeling of freedom will last very long. Such is the life of a writer/student/festival volunteer/whatever else I am this week…
