Screenplay Update #9: FIN
I have finished my first draft! It’s been printed and bound, and last night I submitted a copy to my tutor. There’s no going back now…
Of course, finishing one draft doesn’t really mean that much [aside from letting me take the Feature Film elective], but it’s something that I’m pretty proud of. This is the first major piece of writing that I’ve actually completed. And to a deadline, on top of that! Over the years I’ve started so many novels that I’ve never come close to finishing, but now I finally feel like I can say that I’ve written something. I’ve written a feature-length film script.
Apologies for the radio silence over the past couple of weeks. This screenplay has been taking up almost every waking hour – and in the few times that I’ve not been attempting to write, blogging has been the last thing on my mind. And if that wasn’t enough, I was also in a bit of an accident last week, which left me with a bandaged knee and two of my fingers taped together. It’s been a stressful time, and I’m glad that it’s over. Until the next draft, that is.
