Oh, How I Wish I Could Go to Coachella

The long-awaited Coachella line-up was finally released yesterday, and it’s looking pretty damn good.  Featuring the likes of Blur, The Stone Roses, and Biffy Clyro, I’m just wishing that some very nice person would fly me to America and buy me a ticket [or maybe one of those ticket/accommodation packages, where you get to stay in a nice hotel – that’d be pretty nice].  Please?!

For anyone who is thinking of flying to the US for the festival, tickets go on sale on Wednesday at 5am [Melbourne time].  And if you think that I may have calculated that wrongly [it is possible], there’s a countdown on the front page of the Coachella website that you can follow.  Make sure you’re online at the right time; last year’s festivals sold out online within two hours!

As a bit of a consolation prize, I have seen most of the headlining bands recently at Harvest, Falls and Big Day Out [with the obvious exception of Blur – who I would absolutely love to see; if only they’d come to Australia!].  The Stone Roses are playing at Future, which I’ve finally purchased a ticket for, and there are also quite a few bands from the Laneway line-up.  Maybe everyone else will come here for Splendour?!  We can only hope…

Edit: As a test, I went through the lineup and marked off all the bands that have played or will be playing local festivals.  Click here to have a look and see what we’re really missing out on.  It’s still pretty bad.
