LIVE REVIEW: Florence + the Machine – August 8th, Hordern Pavilion

As this was the second of Florence’s Splendour sideshows that I had the opportunity to see [and the fourth time I’ve seen her live this year], I thought I’d let the lovely Sarah, who accompanied me to the show, contribute her own review.  This performance, at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, was the first general admission gig that this 15 year-old had ever attended, and certainly the first one she’d ever lined up for.

Go with the Flo?

Five hours waiting outside in general admission to the Florence + the Machine concert, got me front row centre with my sister, thought the night couldn’t get any better, but I was very wrong…
When Florence took for the stage it was as though I was in the presence of an angel; her voice was the sound of a beautiful wind chime and her hair was the sight of a glorious halo, five hours of waiting suddenly seemed as though it wasn’t enough when I was faced with such a memorable experience. So as an answer to the question, ‘Go with the Flo?’ I vote yes, 100% of the way.

The gig was also filmed by the Triple J live music team, so you never know when you might see it [and us – we were front and centre, after all] on the telly.  Keep an eye out!
