I Suppose I Should Write Something About Big Day Out
For more info, check the Big Day Out website.
The Big Day Out 2013 line-up was announced on Monday morning, and I don’t really have much to say about it. It’s not a bad lot of bands, but there’s nobody on the list that has me absolutely dying to go. I’m not terribly interested in the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ latest offering. The Killers are great, as are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but I’ve seen them both before.
I guess the most disappointing thing for me is the lack of a certain favourite band of mine who I was certain were going to make the list. And it’s not just Garbage who I was really hoping to see, but also Biffy Clyro – who’d made appearances on quite a few of the fake “leaked” line-ups. The worst thing is that according to the Music Feeds Soundwave confirmation list, neither band are coming for that festival either. So unless there’s a miracle, and Garbage are revealed to be playing Falls, I can’t help but feel quite disappointed with the entire Summer festival circuit.
Still, I shouldn’t give up on BDO yet. Childish Gambino [aka Donald Glover from Community] is performing, which might be kind of awesome. And I’ve not yet seen Vampire Weekend. They could be good, too.
And you never know, Garbage might announce a national tour tomorrow. Or next week. I can only keep my fingers crossed.
