FREE MUSIC – Glastonbury: The Album

This week, NME.com are offering an awesome [free!] mixtape to get people in the mood for Glasto 2010 – or, to make those of us who can’t go [because we live on the other side of the world] insanely jealous. The tracklisting is as follows:

01. Four Tet – “Angel Echoes”

02. Crystal Fighters – “In The Summer”

03. Toddla T – “Sky Surfing” (with Wayne Marshall)
Really not my kind of music, but this exclusive track is bouncy stuff, and an example of the diverse range of music that is covered at Glastonbury.

04. Florence +The Machine – “Drumming Song” (Boy 8 Bit remix)
This remix, by Boy 8 Bit [who is also performing at Glasto], is so far removed from the original song, that Flo lovers will either adore or despise it. Personally, I fall into the latter category, up until the 5 minute mark, from then on [the track goes for 6.31], it’s quite good.

05. The Drums – “Forever And Ever” (St Etienne remix)
Yes, that’s right, The Drums remixed by St Etienne. You can’t go wrong with that. My highlight of the mix.

06. Two Door Cinema Club – “Come Back Home” (Myd remix)

07. Broken Bells – “The High Road”
Jealous yet? I’d give anything to just leave on a jet plane and fly on over…

08. Broken Social Scene – “Chase Scene”

09. Crystal Castles – “Celestica” (Memory Tapes Remix)

10. Bonobo – “We Could Forever”
And now for something completely different: some funk inspired “world music” [such a misleading term].

11. The Phenomenal Handclap Band – “15-20”
Yep, the song from the Bonds underwear ad. Now try to get it out of your head.

12. Empire Of The Sun – “We Are The People”

13. Avi Buffalo – “Remember Last Time”

14. Beach House – “Lover Of Mine”

15. Tunng – “Hustle”
There really is something for everyone at Glastonbury. Maybe somebody could sponsor me to fly over there?

16. Holy Fuck – “Red Lights”
From all the pictures I’ve seen of them in the NME, I imagine that these guys would be insane live.

17. David Rubato – “Circuit” (Aeroplane remix)

18. Magnetic Man – “MAD”

19. Marina & The Diamonds – “Oh No” (Active Child remix)
Another remix that is miles away from the original, Active Child have taken my favourite Marina Diamandis song and rendered it almost unrecognisable.

20. La Roux – “In For The Kill” (Skream remix)
And what festival mixtape would be complete without La Roux?
