Drinkify: What Do Your Favourite Bands Taste Like?

Drinkify: What Do Your Favourite Bands Taste Like?

Drinkify is a lovely little website that suggests beverages to accompany your favourite tunes.  Apparently Garbage should be accompanied by a cold beer.  Nice.

[Note: I did have to look up what PBR was.  According to Wikipedia, it stands for Pabst Blue Ribbon, a brand of beer originally established in Milwaukee.  I’m sure it’s very nice].

I tested the site with some of my other favourite artists:  “The Biffy Clyro” is a Brooklyn lager.  Kylie Minogue should be accompanied by a cocktail of equal parts absinthe and wheatgrass juice.  They suggest a bottle of red wine to go with Florence + the Machine, and “The Blur” is a concoction that features vodka, lemon juice and club soda.  Interesting.

PBR also happens to be the official beverage of Fuck Yeah Matt Smith’s Wardrobe. So I guess its pretty hip.

I am going to type the name of all the artists in my CD collection into this website. Judge my musically taste at your leisure.

Supertramp- a bottle of red wine. And dancing around the lounge room. Because that’s what I always do.

The Beatles- Mezcal. Which I had to look up and have no idea where you would buy.

Frente- (surprised it recognised Frente seeing as they only ever made one album)a bottle of Pinot Noir. Specufic.

OH MY GOD. IT ACTUALLY HAS TIM MINCHIN. THIS WEBSITE IS THE GREATEST.
    Moonshine, Club soda and Fassionola.
My best friend’s dad ferments alcohol, does that count as moonshine? Fassionola is basically just tropical punch cordial as far as I can tell.

Dead Cat Bounce is slightly confusing. There are two bands by that name.
Regardless- Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Grapefruit juice and Talisker Scotch. Seems legit.

Ah the first proper fail. That is not the Tripod I am looking for.

We have now exhausted my CD collection. I may, however, start going through my iPod and therefore be here all day. Thank you for reading this too long comment.

It’s nice to meet another Frente! fan. I’m sick of people putting them down.

Also, Fassionola is a pretty awesome drink name, but it doesn’t quite beat Passiona.

I am ashamed that it took me this long to reply to your comment. I wonder if you can backdate comment replies… [probably not].

[Edit: Yep. Totally can. Not quite sure how I plan to abuse this, but I’m sure I’ll think of something].
